This can come out and be sick, or if not implemented correct it come out and have more bugs than any mpc in history and take close to a year or more to get a update, no one knows until we can get our hands on it.

EXACTLY! This is why it's very important for us to make sure we express exactly what we want, and also important for Akai to actually listen. Only time will tell.

Or you can just keep your old MPC and leave the Ren for the millions of us that already have capable computers! Just a thought!

exactly. we need to discuss this before akai releases them, its our opportunity to participate and give input.

what are we suppose to do? not talk about what we want and need, then when they are released be mad at what akai gives us? **** NO! thats just some passive bullshit. and thats what the haters do.

hater:"akai is stupid, im not gonna give any constructive feedback"
.....time passes.....akai releases the gear.........
hater: "wtf akai, you dropped the ball! cant you read my mind?!".......

if you dont give input how can you expect to get what you want? akai is just suppose to read our minds? you cant be mad after its too late. that doesnt make sense.

There is plenty of info on these boards collected over the years to create a dream machine, HF's wave form thread is one of the only true feedback threads the rest are jah promoting something he's yet to seen or people complaining.

Have to agree that the signal-to-noise ratio in these REN threads of late is pretty bad if you don't mind me saying. :( I Don't bother reading much if there aren't any comments by Daniel or Andy in a thread.

I have said this from the very begining. My plan is an eighteen month window, or maybe a little earlier ? I want to see how reliable these units prove to be first and what kind of support - or lack of, given Akai's poor track record - is provided to the end users ? If these are all positive after that time period and the units offer a better workflow than what I have now with both my 1K and Maschine, then I would buy a unit, no doubt. But that is a lot of 'ifs' ....

Akai should be commended, however, for looking at what the amrket wants right now and the fact that they have people on here that are listening to the user requests - this can only be a good thing. In doing this, they stand half a chance of really producing something that is 'spot on'. Fanboy JAH aside, there would appear to be a fair amount to look forward to with these new units ... ?

Time will reveal all ?

A small group of us have been giving feedback about what we want in an MPC for several years. Most others here were happy using what they already had (see MPC 2500/1000 w/JJ OS) and others simply moved onto other products like Maschine.

I said it before...but the irony of all this is that many of the people that said **** Akai or there isn't a market for a new MPC are now spending the most amount of time in this section of the forums. :P

Can someone sum this video up for me? I can watch an episode of Curb, make a sandwich and rub one out in 28 minutes...seems like a more useful way to spend that time.

That's why I don't watch these videos... Everytime I start one and agree, it starts to get long winded...I'll skip forward 7 minutes to see how it's being wrapped up and the dude is talking about missle silos or the JFK assassination or something.

And...I dare say, Curb is not drivel. 8)

Some good notable quotes on there Bread.

"Fix the problem, not the blame!"

"**** money, yeah you heard right, **** MONEY!"

And speaks alot about creativity over business.

I thought the same about a 28min vid, but once you play it, you'll never notice time.
