Tempo

Im still kinda trying to figure everything out so how would I know where my tempo should be at?

Your tempos at the main screen dude, the little music note with the number next to it. Use the cursor buttons to select it, then the jog wheel to change it.

I thought Johnnyblaze was saying 'what is the tempo meant to be?'. Well the answer would be what ever you want it to be. Depends

how would i decide or get it at the correct speed as my sample, some sort of technique?...thats what I dont understand

yeah there is heaps on the forum about the techniques used to find tempo. have a search. I find breaks can shift tempo if it is human drummer. Never perfect tempo over say more than one bar. depends. I just play sample at begining of sequence and match sequence length to the sample. play it in a loop, if sample playback overlaps or there is a gap between the samples then adjust BPM. this will give you a pretty close BPM of sample. Also you can layer a track with four to the floor kick to give you a solid reference. Like dj'ing really.
