MPC 1000, M-Audio Keystation and Reaper

I'm going to cop a M-Audio Keystation 49e MIDI-keyboard soon and it's basically the same thing as Keystation 61es and 88es but less keys.
I was wondering if I could hook up the keyboard to my computer with USB-connection, and use VSTs on Reaper and play it with the keyboard and hook the keyboard to MPC1k with MIDI-cable and record it? Could it work?

If its the 49e & not 49 Key Rig, yes it has midi + USB connection so you will will be able to connect the 1000 to it. Now, is what your really asking is can you record using the sequencer in the MPC?

Yeh the 49e not the KeyRig. And I'm not really asking it, I know I can record MIDI from the keyboard to the MPC. Just didn't know if the setup was OK. Thanks man
