Sample CD's from eBay???

Just wondering if anyone has ever bought some sample CD's from eBay. There are hundreds of them listed....I bought one CD a few months ago and the sounds were so shitty (it was a pure waste of 10 bucks)...just wondering if anyone else has ordered some, and if they contained any good sounds? I was thinking about trying to buy a few more CD's (maybe the one i bought a few months ago was just a bad one), has anyone bought a sample CD from a power seller on eBay and gotten good/origanal sounds?

I was thinking of doing the same but never tried 2. Let me knoe please if you ever come across any good sounds from them.

I asked a buddy of mine and he claims that all the "power sellers" on there just have the same stuff on it. I guess thats why there are very few "repeat buyers" for them. He says the ones he gets good sounds off of are the 10 dollar ones he said you just gotta take a chance until you find a good one. It is only 10 bux.

I bought like 3 cd's off ebay. All of $10 or less. Some of the sounds are good but many are not. It's all taking a chance and hopefully you get something good. It's only $10.

The one i got is a very dope cd. It has all the drum sounds from big drum machines and 80% useable samples.

The guys eBay name is Hardsoundz. I got the 5100+ drums sample cd off him. Lots of good stuff that i use.

Do u mean that only 80% of the sounds are royalty free? that kinda sux, as most those other cd's offer 100% royalty free sounds...

I bought that zip disk from that dude who has that picture of pharrell as his logo or w/e. And all the sounds were basically crap

No, i mean that the cd is 80% good samples, not crappy ones.

And ya, the guy with Dre or the Neptunes for his pic has crappy samples.

I bet 90% of the drums are filtered ultimate breaks& beats, you can find the keyboard sounds free on the internet (google for "free soundfonts"), get your hands dirty or it's gonna end up sounding hella generic...royalty free=generic

How do you work that out? There's lot's of sites on the net that offer licence free, royalty free sounds that are not 'generic'. All the sound downloads on this site are licence free, because that's the way it should be in my opinion. I like to think that after spending months editing, processing and compiling these sounds they are anything but generic.

just realistic, I don't hear the types of sounds used in songs that I like being openly distributed for free...not saying it should be that way, but that's how it is...this forces me to make them from scratch, which carries over into the actual music....I'm just not for skipping that first step. IMO, if you just got your sampler/keyboard, concentrate on learning it and making your own sounds first, then supplement that with other people's influences, but I think it's important to try on your own first....or else it's just generic...

The types of sounds used in songs are typically generic.

If you want those sounds, get a triton.
