MPD32 LFO Tool

Is there an internal LFO for the MPD32 which allows you to route the LFO to the knobs? I'm not hoping for the knobs to physically move but I want the lfo to be able to be quickly changed while remaining in sync and adjusted in terms of depth and range and shape. The routing should be to the knobs on the MPC which will control the Midi Learned parameter for that specific knob.

If not the MPD32, then what?

Are you hooking it up to a DAW or something? I'm not sure I quite understand your question. So you're trying to control your MPC with an MPD? or was that a typo?

If your question is DAW specific I can only really help with Ableton Live. I'm sure your other DAWs have MIDI mapping too.

Well I want to record automation data you have that correct. But I want the MPD32 to posess an LFO that writes automation data. I want to be able to write automated bass like I'm playing the midi controller like an instrument.

In essence there needs to be an LFO inside of the MPD32.

Also, how would you record automation data in ableton? For more than one parameter at a time?

1. Put an Auto Filter onto the track you want to use the LFO on.

2. Go into the MIDI map mode, and assign a knob to the Amount and another to Rate.

3. As it's for bass turn the phase to 0 degrees, unless you want a bassline going in and out of phase.

4. Set the cutoff for the filter frequency and the resonance (Q). You could even apply some knobs to each of these if you wanted in MIDI map mode to give you more control.

5. Make sure that track is armed, press record. Any knob that is turned will automatically have it's automation recorded. To view the automation afterwards go to the right hand side of the screen and select the device from the little drop down menu on the correct track.

Underneath there is another dropdown box and each parameter that has automation will have a red dot next to it. You can look at each one individually or using the "+" symbol you can add each automation track under the main audio track.

So from what I understand, your telling me to just use a knob to control the rate of the Lfo in Massive basically.

I think I know what I'm going to do.

As long as I can record midi CC data for my macro knobs using a midi controller I'll be fine.

Also, if in ableton I can assign multiple knobs to a single knob somehow, that would be really helpful too. I think this post means im looking for a max for live device, and I'm just going to be messing around with basic physical knobs.
