Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

Dream feature request:

Create the Akai MPC Ren-Standalone. That would be the MPC 5000-XL!! (MPC-3500 XXL-Plus) Give it 8-output audio, SCSI port, a Multi-Flash Card port, a USB-A 2.0, a Firewire 400 and 800 port for external hard-drive support, give it all of the file compatibility for the ENTIRE MPC SERIES and the ENTIRE "S" SERIES samples because of the multisample / keygroups abilities of the MPC4000 and the MPC5000!! This way your 12-bit MPC60 and 12-bit X7000 / S900 / S950 samples will be totally compatible, as well as the other systems library support, and you would not have to spend years of time to integrate, reconfigure, etc. your samples!!!

:D

Oh damn, I just woke up. What happened? Was I thinking out loud again? Wow, creativity and dreams seems to be one and alike. They're often too far away from reality to be true. Too bad I can't give the research and development division of Numark/Akai an Adderall laced Phillies Blunt to listen to their customers with better clarity. Oh well, the shame of corporate greed will still move on, sadly. Damn those Republicans! Praise Hip-Hop and pass the vinyl!!

I'd buy it, but only if it comes with JAH as a personal tutor.
he has to wake me up every morning telling me how much that's the best piece of hardware I have in my studio and why I should use it instead of everything else... and he shouldn't stop untill I've created at least one album that sells platinum... and that album should be dedicated to Akai.

At least an expansion slot added to the back for maybe an 8 out card ? . . . maybe sacrifice the phono in, 2 of the midi outs and turn those xlr/1/4 combo in's into plain 1/4's and the USB hub ports to make it happen ?

Edit : but a really smart idea would be if these boys are working on a extension from one of the USB hubs that's an 8 out kinda like the extension outs on the ASR 10  .

no..... Don't touch the 4 MIDI OUTS! That's one of things that sets the MPC apart. Especially for us that still use a lot of hardware!
One of the things that has me puzzled is, how to use my existing audio interface with
that of the ren's

pspsounds wrote:Why would you need an 8 out when the software will automatically bounce 8 or more tracks into wav files. Much cleaner and less cables.

With the same 3K, 60 or "other" options for them ? Your way is cleaner but I think this would be dope .

I would go thru a mixer, then to my audio interface.

I don't use outboard mixers anymore... They take up too much space.
I use an audio interface that gives me 26 channels, and I mix within Sonar X1.
I really don't have the room anymore, for a mixer

In 2012, 8 outs is simply NOT ENOUGH! It would have to have a minimum of 16 outs to interest me! It's pretty easy to fit 16 TRS outputs on the back of an MPC for the fact that you don't need to match that amount of inputs, especially if the unit were the size of a 4000.

previously posted by me but this would be my dream feature.imagine ...looking at your sample on a computer monitor .U hit the 1st pad in the lower most left corner on your Mpc.the sample on the screen starts to scroll from left to right.(the waveform moves)while the sample moves there's a cursor indicating the currently audible region.(as the cursor passes over the section of a sample that's what u hear.) then u hit pad 2 a chop is created ,then u hit the 3rd pad another chop is created, then the 4th pad and so on until your sample is chopped across 16,32,48 ,etc, etc, pads.simply as the sample plays you would use the pads to automatically chop and assign your chopped samples to a program. the first pad tap would be the beginning of the sample the next pad tap would be the end of the previous sample as well as the beginning of the next /2nd sample the 3rd pad tap would be the end of the 2nd sample and the beginning of the 3rd sample(sample edits wouldn't be destructive so u could always edit sample to your liking) ...etc,etc,etc..do y'all see what Im getting at?I don't know if this has been talked about before on a mpc but i think it would be a great idea.

You want to actually make a beat on the Ren. I just want to wake up every morning and admire its beauty. I might even put plastic on it like my grandma's old couch.

that would be the beez neez!

but being able to bounce all tracks into wav files, labeled properly and put into a folder automatically is just as good besides ppl that want to run into a big mixing desk.. would be a cheaper machine as thats a software vs hardware thing imo.. but id still love 16 outs dont get me wrong!
