MPC 1000 With MPK25

I have the MPK powered by my laptop and have the Midi out of the MPK to the Midi IN of the MPC 1000... I have the Midi channel on the MPC set to 1 but I'm still not getting anything to trigger in the MPC... Any help is appreciated.

Are you sure you can have it plugged in via usb and midi at the same time. Most controllers operate in a way that once you hook them up via usb, regular midi ports wont work.

In addition, make sure you have port 1 selected in mpk and then it's just hooking mpk midi out to mpc midi in.

Thanks for the quick response... I think I figured it out... Your right... If the mpk is hooked up to the computer you have to assign the midi out you want to use... If it's connected to a wall wart then it works as a normal midi controller.
