taking advantage of stereo format?

what's up, i blew one of my speakers and i\/e listening to my ipod with just the won when i heard a song where i didn't think i kould get the instruments that i would ha\/e otherwise thought i kouldn't without the vocals. is there anyway to apply this to recording into my akai?

if this has already been talked about my bad, i don't know the teknikal name for it so i wasnt sure what to search.

depending on the model (it might be universal), you can generally select 'stereo', 'mono left', or 'mono right' for your sampling source.

but wont that only kontrol how the sound koming out of the 1000 sounds and not so much from the i pod?

i'm not making myself clear, the song was recorded in stereo. but i want to cancel out the left when recording in so as to only record the sounds from the sample that were meant to be heard from the right speaker.

You can choose in the 'sample' window to only sample the L, R or Stereo

nope.
notice i said SAMPLING SOURCE, not mpc output.
