hi guys getting into my mpc5000 now but ive got abit stuck. im at the point where im getting rid of the demo autoload as i want it to be fresh when i load it for my own work. but all i want to do is switch it on and have all my kits load up straight off so i can select trhought them without having to keep going to mode+disk f3 (util) and loading about 10kits up. and does anyone know why it says 60.8mb wave free. i thought i had loads of space it says like 80g. is this a seperate memory or can i get my 80g harddrive to run instead so ive got more. hope you know what i mean im confusing myself typing this. think the manuals gone to my head. :/ :)

pg. 179 5k manual:

64mb standard RAM, did you expand your RAM? If not then that 60.8mb your seeing
is your RAM. It's used as MPC's workspace while the MPC is on.

The 80gb hdd has nothing to do with RAM. It's main purpose is for offline storage.

They are separate, 5k is expandable up to 192mb.

Sampling at 44.1khz will get you

12min 48sec (64mb mono)
and
38m24sec (192 mono)

per the manual.

Is there an autoload off somewhere in the features or options or even in the manual, you gotta look around.

I'm not in front of it right now but i believe its something like disk | load select folder to load or pgm to load and there will be an option next to "do it" entitled "clear" this will clear memory of all prior to loading your next folder/pgm

Also, there is an option for autoload off. i did it once when i got it a couple years back and have touch it since so i cant recall where but its there somewhere.

Up a the top menu, there's "MPC OS & Manuals", go there and download the 5k manual. Check out that manual.

Based on your first post I guess you are looking for a self-defined autoload. I agree with Lampdog, that it's all in the manual and so on but nevertheless...
This is how it works on the 1000, I guess the main principle should be the same even on the 5k.
clear your memory (delete all sequences, programs, purge unused samples), load up those programs/kits you want to have loaded at the beginning. Then save the current memory to the autoload folder (in my 1k its done by going to save -> all file -> autoload or s/th like that).

Once you create your own auto load folder, then it will automatically start loading that one. No need to go delete stuff, it changes by itself.

Just look up the electronic version of the manual and search for autoload. It explains it real nicely step by step.

But yeah just create an autoload folder and ur set.
