What is your Top 5 *Dead or Alive, JJ OS Features? I am asking as you may possibly see some of your most beloved features in a new MPC.

My Top 5 are (in no particular order):
1. Nondestructive Chopping
2. Real-time pitch-shift incoming audio
3. Customize numeric keys
4. Non-overlap mode
5. Sample playhead marker

*Dead - features that have been removed over the years....

**Disclaimer - I know everyone here is passionate about JJ and the further development of his operating systems. Being interested in another MPC does not make you disloyal.

None of the new products will be be able to import JJ files and you know this.I am not
dissing new programers as much as I am just going to say JJ has helped this company and has done circles around any AKAI 1000/2500 O.S. You are now a bad internet add that keeps going.Quit trying to steal and pander and lets see the goods.

1. Actually Akai said they would be open to JJ program import. But they would need info regarding the format of the programs. If they don't have the spec, it won't happen.

2. Akai also stated they are interested in feedback from MPC users. And are interested in what users like about the JJ OS.

Cept that realtime pitch shifting for people that cant dj maybe, thats what i see it as. i mean if you have turn table what do you need that for.

For so many years, many forum members have ranted because they felt Akai wasn't listening to their concerns. Today, Akai is going all out to bring an MPC to the table people will enoy and has openly solicited feedback. So you have an opportunity to give feedback to what you would like to see in a new MPC as its being fine tuned as we write this. In fact, several features suggested in the MPC Ren, are being implemented.

Akai has acknowledged feedback about the quality of the pads, tact switches, and buttons. There is a You Tube video up regarding the redesigned pads. And the button is reportedly being changed so they won't over-extend and break.

I doubt that they will use much better tact switches!! economy of scale might mean they can, but i think they will go cheaper option and not use ones rated for more than a million cycles. Akai can prove me wrong though, thats fine with me. First thing i do with any new gear is open it up and look at what is inside, so will be interesting. The buttons may over extend, but in my opinion, they break as they are not rated for the cycles needed on MPC. Cheap parts is why, i think. Just penny pinching and goes to show Akai did not take into account any decent quality control. Thats a fact they are trying to get around, and so wont believe it till i got it apart and look at the tact switches myself.

1.non destructive chop and how you can hear each chop with the program settings while you chop and beable to have overlapping zones, and be able to compare each zone wiht the pads so you can jam out while chopping.
2.GPE global program edit. selecting multiple pads and bulk edit pgm properties and multiple pad view
3.export song to wav

No offense mate, but could you go back to the ren forum with these comments. You're just making assumptions here about the new controllers and I'm kinda annoyed that I have to read about this shit here. This has nothing to do with 1000, 2500 or JJOS for that matter.

Plz keep your Akai-ass-kissing at bay.

i am more interested in these questions:

"what features do you want in the next hardware akai mpc?"

and:

"how can we show you that we didn't only take your money for years and left you with a sh*tty os and hardware components that break?"

sorry i didnt post what i like. so here it is
1. JJ fixes bugs
2. jj fixes bugs
3. JJ fixes bugs ect ect yeah that kind of dedicated user feedback only works if the person does work and fixes bug promptly, not just say they are listening and 6 months later something might happen, or dosnt. That can in no way be under rated at all. Sure were are the beta testers, and its a risk to (would Akai honor a warranty on a MPC with JJOS on it?) but it works as a model. When the scale of magnitude is increased a hundred fold for the many users of, lets say for arguments sake the Ren might be, then its a whole new ball game some corporations struggle with. In fact most outsource this know how to companies dedicated to generating and effecting web presence of corps. So what I am saying that this model might not be so scable and be as viable. If anything smaller communities might have a better outcome as conceivably every one gets heard. I am sure every one has heard enough of me lately  i ment corporations in general and not just Akai. I will give you my view of the whole she-bang. Goes like this - Akai is a corporation, from japan. Sells MPC sampler things or what ever they are.... Corporation does well and has a large corporate structure thats then undercut by the fact computers come along and diminish there market to a large degree. So have to restructure big time. Then catch up as well after realizing that the traditional market can no longer support their own corporate structure. We are lucky they are around, and I so think they will stop making stand alone units as the economies of scale will mean not enough units being sold means cant cover cost of manufacture and storage. Thats how it works right. Would you make a lot of something that would take ages to sell when you can make something else and you cant make enough of them. Its corporations thats how they work. All about the money. oh i got a bit sidetracked sorry

Exactly...and that is what this thread is about. So if there are features that the JJ OS has that you like, what is your Top 5?
