Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

K, you got your mpc hooked up to your zip drive, just found a scsi to usb adapter, plug that into the other outlet on the zip drive, to your computer, could you use that to drag and drop files from your cpu to your zip drive, then you can load them off the Zip to your mpc? use the zip as the middle man?

Doesn't work bruh. This has been brought up many times before.

That works. I have used and described this in detail this setup before. The only difference in my setup is that my drive is internal to the MPC, so I only have a USB cable dangling off the MPC2000XL ready for connection to the computer. Pretty much works like the MPC1000.

It can be convenient, but not very cost effective since the Adaptec USB-SCSI runs about 70 USD new. OTher models may be cheaper, but I do not trust them so much. You could just about buy a 2nd drive for that amount.

MPC3000, call me slow, but you lost me bruh.
Do you have pictures of this?

"Do you have pictures of this?"

I am not sure how a picture would help. It is just the USB-SCSI adapter connected to the back of the MPC. The USB cable is connected to the PC/Mac.

Sorry, my question may sound stupid, but, it's sounds so unavailable.
You mean Your XL go directly to Your PC? You think with non-XL MPC i can do the same?

so if i got an external zip drive connected it to my mpc using scsi is there another output on the zip drive? or do i disconnect it from the mpc then attach the scsi to usb then plug it into the comp?

i'm very confused but i really want this kind of set up.

ok, I've bought the Adaptec USBXchange. I've connected it to my Iomega 100 SCSI zip drive (where as the MPC 2K is connected) and it works, but, some files go and afterwards i have scsi read error. What does in the rear of zip should be ? which scsi id should i choose? and should i choose Termination or it should be off ?

I heard this shit can broke your ZIP or the MPC SCSI Connection.

When the PC and the MPC wants to access the ZIP at the same time or something.

But i'm not sure...usally i trust MPC3000's tipps ;-)

this is hilarious. everyone on here longer than 2 weeks screams "TRY SEARCHING THE FORUM N00B!!!" at anyone who dares to ask the top 5 questions:

1. card reader, the truth please?
2. what is this custom power cable i have to make to fit an ide zip?
3. whats the correct scsi cable? honestly?
4. why is SCSI so shite?
5. how do i clean the cocaine rocks off the inside of the PADS?

thing is, try searching this forum. for starters you get 7000 returns for ANY query, and you trawl through a load of unanswered and inconclusive threads - EXACTLY LIKE THIS ONE

does this mean all my questions will be addressed as long as i drop 40 bucks on the PDF? bleh
