its been in there for pure time. but mbe one day will get resolved, plus i havnt seen any other posts re this so there.

when theres qlink data recorded into a seq, (say track:BPF, or other noticable effect) , if i switch seq's to one that has no qlink data recorded, the last remaining value of the previous seq is left to "hang" over into the next seq,

EG: the BPF is not reset in a seq that has no such BPF values (should be 'dry').

I don't know what's up there yet, but it's annoying how 'after' buttons work now, I cannot overdub instantly as 'after' lights up/down for no reason (I don't press it..) so, as I push 'stop' they are light up still, hit record/ovdub and it goes down.. wtf?

cosign on this. qlinks definitely need some improvement in os 3 i think. they got gimped in os 2xl.

this would involve some cpu overhead but maybe he could insert some sort of 'look ahead' in the os to see what (if any) qlink values are present in the sequence that is being switched to and set them accordingly upon switching.

Got a reply on this and it seems there's no fix in sight:
What is not reset is specification.
Since a claim will arrive from other users if this is changed, change is impossible.
Moreover, since a program becomes complicated and a bug arises, it cannot perform adding an option switch.

I like how it does that though. It means when you chain sequences it carries over, and that is exactly what I want. If it is a problem then just erase the info or record another setting in new sequence.

^ agreed. cc/qlink/pb resets always annoy me, in DAWs too. if i set a cc toward the end of one seq, i expect it to be the same in the next seq. though most the time i just record the intended value on 1.1.00 so if i switch seqs quickly i get the value i expect

^^ Damn straight my man, damn straight. Nym gets me.
O and also we are at 3.26 with JJOSXL so you are due an update there arebee.
Did 3.15 have patterns?? I cn not remember if not arebee is in for a nice surprise with the new features

I liked jj response though, that is a polite no i think. Cos they know some of us would go mental

It just makes perfect sense that it is this way to me and can not see why you would want it to be otherwise. cos if you are playing and apply say BPF then it should stay that way till you want it to change as you chain sequences togetther. Did you notice that if you stop and then play other sequence it will go back to normal I think.

yeah agree that as it is now it's as good as it can be and you can go around that by copying note-events etc. to another track, but would love to have the ability to turn it "off" so that program settings would take over (if you have set filters / pad).

ok well hold that thought and apply that to midi. How do you feel about that. I mean its the same really isnt it as say BPF in behaviour here. So you would want to be able to turn off midi events as well like this?
like filter res and cut off freq for instance.

FYI so what this JJOS right, and that does not answer the question mtc. I was just wondering what ya view was out of interest.

It only takes a second to set it to another value that is wanted.

Yeah just wanted your views so it is not a personal attack or anything. Just interested in your views - on jjos that is, not the 4k.

Any ways it does reset if you hit stop.

you 'anti-reset' peeps are missing the point of the original request. this is all about live jamming on the fly.

say i got 10-20 different sequences loaded and i'm switching among them on the fly, sometimes mid-sequence.
(i always have my NEXT SEQ pref set to IMMEDIATELY PLAY cause i like to switch from seq to seq at a moments notice.)

each sequence might be the exact same beat in the GRID EDIT, just with different sound tweaks via the qlinks & different samples assigned in PROGRAM.

the qlink settings will give a totally different character to each sequence. it is be important for the qlinks to be set just so in each one. but if the values spill over from one seq to the next as you switch live it will totally change the sound. what might make sense in one sequence might ruin the sound in the next one. that's why you would want each sequence to 'snap' to their own qlink values as you switch.

but yeah, it sounds like JJ doesn't want to mess with it because other people would complain if he switched it, which i can understand. it would be great if it was a global preference you could set one way or the other, tho.
