60 display modification

Is it possible to replace el-foil based display with modern LED backlit display?

i've been wondering about the same MOD for MPC3000 LE

someone mentioned that on the gearslutz where ppl install LED backlights
in Akai S950 or EMU SP12/1200, but i've never seen one done on MPC60/3000

but theoretically it should be possible with the right size LED display?

any ideas?

Replacing the S950, or SP1200 displays with LED illuminated ones is that simple, because the used type of display modules is based on the same controller chip. The interface is exactly the same (except for two extra pins for powering the LED backlight). The displays used in the 60/3000 are completely different and I doubt there is such a simple LED module replacement available. Maybe the el-foil could be replaced with some foil based on organic LED technology, that doesn't need those damn inverters. We need some serious hi tec in our old-skool samplers
