Hey guys-

Still new to this forum, and the mpc in general. Big thanks and much respect to those who take the time to help people out, truly a remarkable community in this forum.

Now down to the good stuff...

After I sample a song through my record in's, I trim the song to my liking (only the left part .. VIEW: Left, rather than both or right), I equally chop it. Up until now it allows me to edit and trim everything while viewing only the left part. Then I chop it and and when I goto adjust my chops to make sure they are perfect the setting automatically switches from left to BOTH... now i can't see my chops and it doesn't allow me to switch back to left, i have to cancel and then rechop. Why is this?

sorry if this is confusing, it was confusing for me to type trying to make sure you could understand what I was talking about by explaining my problem with left/right/both views.

Thanks.

Hey,

I am having the same problem with my 5000!! I'll record a sample, go into "TRIM" mode, begin editing the beginning or ending of the sample and when playing the sample on the pads, the entire sample becomes highlighted and then I have to start all over again!!!

Please tell me you have found the solution to this? Wth!!

Are you both using OS 2.0?

I'm afraid i've not come across this issue and i chop on my 5000 often. Give me until the weekend to sit down at the 5000 again.

Yes, I'm using OS 2.0.......this problem is really effecting my production....every time I attempt to edit a sample, when hitting the pads to listen to it, the start of the sample jumps to the end causing me to have to start editing all over again!!

I havent had a chance to try this but it seems to me that you may need to convert to mono using the Left channel. Then chop the sample after. Or sample the left side only when sampling the source material. The view left side feature may just be for viewing only. Just my guess.

Page 104 in the manual
Converting a Stereo Sample to Mono (STEREO TO MONO)
This function will convert the current sample to a new mono sample.

01. In the 'Sample' field, select the sample you wish to convert.

02. Press [F6] (EDIT).
The Sample Edit window will be displayed.

03. In the 'Edit' field, select STEREO TO MONO.

04. Select how you want the file converted.

The following options are available:
Left
The Conversion will only use the left channel for conversion.
Right
The Conversion will only use the right channel for conversion.
Sum
The conversion will combine the left and right audio channels to a single mono channel.

05. In the 'New name' field, set the name for the new sample.

06. Press [F5] (DO IT).
The current sample will be copied to a new sample, and converted to MONO. It may take some time to process depending on the length of the
sample.
