Hi guys, I am looking to buy an mpc to sequence audio samples from synths, drum machines, cd's/vinyl and samples on memory cards. I want to gather all my ideas INSIDE the mpc then take it from there. So I guess I will need an mpc that handles sampling very well with ease of use truncating and real time stretching if possible. Good effects woulde be nice but not a deal breaker. Basically which mpc has the easiest sample manipulation and file system. I had an mpc5000 for a little while and I found the file system and sample manipulation awful and confusing.

if you didn't like the 5000, im not too sure you are gonna like any mpc, as they all work fundamentally the same. i mean what was 'awful' about it?

that being said, the JJ os on a 2.5k or 1k is supposed to be different and very refined. i think it'd be worth a shot.

as for real time time stretch - not gonna happen until you learn some hacks on the mpc and do it manually (short decays + fast quantisation + velocity->start + note repeat).
