What I mean is you can't use Ableton to edit your midi notes and samples that are sequenced in the MPC. All you can do is use the MPC to control/trigger Ableton. With the Renaissance, you can use the computer to edit midi and samples that are actual inside the MPC, since the Renaissance software is basically the MPC.
Ableton cannot give your MPC more than 8 individual outputs for tracking into a DAW. The Renaissance software will likely give you at least 32 individual outs, just like Maschine has, or 64 like Reason has.
Ableton will not let you put an effect or VST on every single MPC sample unless you track the audio into Ableton. Without tracking, Ableton only allows you to have effects on 8 mono channels of your MPC, and that's if your interface has 8 free inputs for your MPC, and if your MPC even has 8 outs. With the Ren, you can have effects on all your samples without having to track anything.
Basically, an MPC functions merely as an MPD with any software, including Ableton. With the Renaissance, you will have true MPC/software integration on a level much higher than simple midi messages being sent back and forth. It's gonna be the same as any MPC you're ever used. Only difference is it's brain/computer is external and you can use a mouse, VST's, and the biggest screen you can afford with it.
As for the other shit you said, if Akai's products (or lack of products) affects your pockets then you are doing something wrong. You shouldn't "need" an MPC to make your money. There are plenty of competing products that can do the same shit.
As for the promo shit, what did they give me you ask? I gave them money and I got a drum machine that I like, just like any other product on the market. Listen, everything you buy and enjoy, you promote to some degree. When you enjoy a purchase, you tell people about and talk about it. From the name brand clothes and shoes you buy, to the electronics in your house, to the car you drive. It why things like car and motorcycle clubs exist or book clubs. You may not be blatantly promoting it and running add campaigns and shit, but you represent it. Doesn't mean the manufacturer owes you anything, especially when you own and talk about that very same manufacturers competitor's products. It's just the way shit is. I have like 30 pairs of Jordans for example, but that doesn't mean Nike owes me shit!
What you don't understand is that we aren't here selling MPC's to each other. We are all already owners, and if you found your way to this site, then chances are you have some interest in MPC's that you found elsewhere and was not brought here by our "promotion." Me promoting an MPC to anyone on this site would be like selling water to a whale!
As for the beat battle having free shit given away, this site is not owned, nor run by Akai. And there are free give-aways. Did you read the thread?
