has syncing other gear to MPC with midi clock changed in some point?

my drum machine wont start unless i press PLAY START from MPC - i´m almost sure it used to sync other gear in the middle of a loop with PLAY but this was few versions back (now on XL3.16)...

has there been a change in the OS or do i remember totally wrong...?

thanks!

You mean the 'continue' signal?

Continue works for me still on XL 3.16 (mpc2500).

yea, exactly.

i thought it´s a standard thing, but could it be some machines won´t recognise it? this box (miami) follows the continue message from cubase however so that´s why i guessed the problem lies in the MPC...

I've noticed the same thing before with the Roland TR-626, 707, and 727, as well as the x0xb0x TB-303 clone. If memory serves me correctly, one of my friends had the same issue with a TR-909. So it's just the way those old pieces of hardware happen to work. I've learned to live with it a long time ago, as it's just the nature of the beast.

yep, tested with MD and that picks up the continue signal...

I tested with a x0xb0x.

What's a "miami"?

an 808 clone http://www.acidlab.de/

x0xbox worked ok? i wonder why miami syncs great also with continue with cubase but not with MPC... well, i guess not an JJ OS issue anyways.

I dunno then. My 808 doesn't recognise the continue signal though and never has.
Continue works with my TR727 btw; always has.

It's been a few years since I owned a TR-707 and 727. So I stand corrected and appreciate the fact that you have shared what you know. :)
