hooking up a Triton/Mpc to Cubase sx to play Audio AND MIDI

whatup, im trying to see if there is an easier way to/ for me to make tracks, right now im doing everything through audio...sampling into the mpc 4000 in the record page thru the 1/4 inch outputs from my keyboards to much hassle truncating the samples and assigning it to program/pad...

instead i can just go to Out A/B/C/D in the main page/seq and beat on the pads hear the Drum/Synth sound from the keyboard play thru MIDI..
now ive made beats using midi i can hear them just fine but when i try and go thru Cubase sx and record my track there... i can hear the MPC 4000 (the drum track i made on there) but the triton is nowhere to be heared.....
so can anyone gimme a hand and help me out here with how to sync them together plz

It's alittle unclear of the problem you're describing, but one thing you might look at one the triton, in the sequence mode- track parameter( P2), is to make sure the instrument that you are using is not set to INT(internal) because it will not record on the mpc if it's played from the triton.
I usually set everything to BTH (both ) on the triton and go into global-midi and turn the local control off so that the triton will only play the channel selected by the mpc. Let me know if this works. Peace.

its creating a whole entire song in cubase sx with both midi and audio....

ive got my triton hooked up to my mpc thru my midi outs....and so i use the triton in combination with my 4k so on track 1 id have my mpc drums track 2 some triton keyboard riff for example

when i bring it over to cubase sx, i can hear the mpc 4k's drums but its like the triton disapears u can no longer hear it it's silent. because it is midi info but alot of cats work this way and i wonder how do they get it all on there digital track recorder.....

(right now all im doing is running the triton audio outs to the mpc audio outs so i can record its audio but its too much hassle truncating every sample especially if all u want is a lil kick/drum/crash/cymbal etc, then assigning the sample to a program/pad)

OK I think I know what you're talking about now, if I understand correctly.
1) you record sounds from the triton onto the mpc and play the sequence back and everything works fine

2) when you record the midi info into cubase you don't hear the triton ( do you see midi information in cubase? )


Well, I don't know if this is what you want but I use sonar3 and this is what I had to do to get it to work, since your triton is on a different a different midi channel than cubase, for ex. my triton is hooked up to midi port A and sonar is hooked up to midi port B now the riff from the triton is recorded on track 1 ( using midi port A) to get it into sonar I have to either change it to port B while recording into sonar or, on the main screen on the mpc, select port B for "out2" and that should take care of your problem. Sorry if it seems so rushed, I gotta split.

are you using midi time code at all??? or midi time clock??? im not yet
