What ways are there to test the internal ram memory?
When booting up, you'll get info about OS version, RAMsize, and CD-player if installed.
also, have you had any error messages during boot?
do you have 128Mb RAM expansion installed? it should then read 192Mb if it's expanded. Open the hatch covering the RAM card. make sure you have no static in your hands by touching a radiator bare metal parts or connect your vrist to earth like a radiator. then gently pull up and insert the RAM card a few times to remove potential oxid on RAM connection. Caution! don't insert the memory the wrong way. that may ruin both memory and connection board according to other users on this forum.
I know that sometimes settings in projects can make mpc5k go weird. try loading older projects that have worked fine. if that helps, you might be using too much RAM, bad/duplicated file names, FX overload in your current project etc. reset your autostart file to load factory files from internal flash memory. see manual for guidance. there are also loads of tips on this forum. you may need to be patient and search for answers for a while.
best of luck!
