This remains on my radar since I have been wanting a touch sensitive
control surface for a LONG time. For the LED/light haters, this aint for you, K>I>M>

But anyway, I gotta find out more about how this controller will work with Reason 6. If it's capable of doing more than an MPD with Reason 6, then I'll be looking to order it sometime in the future. For now, I'll grab an MPD18 for cheap until then.

Hopefully, MattKMI will come back here with some more details. Ableton Live is cool, but it's not for me. I need to see it work as more than just a pad controller in Reason 6 before making any decisions. I would recommend downloading the Reason 6 Demo to KMI, so that they can work out all the functionality without having to pay for the full version. Show me it's good, and I'll spread the word on the Propellerheads User Forum. A lot of people there are weighing all the pros and cons about MIDI controllers before making any purchases or pre-orders. So it would be a smart move to gain interest in that community, as many people are in the market for new controllers.

Yeah, I'd go with the iPad over this all day every day. All the top music apps allow very easy editing of velocities and parameters, plus external midi control.

I also doubt this will be any cheaper!

ive seen some of the prototypes in person and it looks sweet. its not really comparable to an ipad? its a controller. Hopefully they start shipping them soon.

The iPad can be set up to control music software in much the same way as the QuNeo, so the comparison is fair.

What you lose in tactile feel you gain in custom design of your own layouts using something like Lemur. And that's not even mentioning the extensive inbuilt audio capabilities of the iPad as a standalone device.

This is something for enthusiasts only me thinks...

Both this and the iPad can be configured to do a similar job, are the same size and also roughly the same price, so it's inevitable they will be compared.

I'm not that blown away by touch screen controllers in general to be honest, regardless of who makes them. If it came to a choice I would have to go with the iPad based solely on the cheap expandability of the software, the fact it works standalone and the added benefit of being able act as a controller either via midi or wirelessly.

Anyone making an iPad sized multi-touch controller has a tough job on their hands IMO.
