how 2 connect my studio !!??!?

hi everybody.

i have a problem with connecting my studio - hope u can help me with that:

this is what i got:
- mpc 2500
- mixer (spirit soundcraft powerstation 600)
- microkorg xl
- m-audio fast track pro
- korg monotron delay
- cubase

now i connected everything like this:

fast track pro: output to mpc line in
mpc main output to mixer
all 8 single outputs to mixer
both korg outs to mixer
and mixer main-out to fast track pro line in

and one thing doesn't work:
- record ("audio") the sound of my korgs with the mpc.

what is wrong

fasttrack is a usb audio interface isn't it? it needs to be connected to a computer and a daw opened to hear anything. I'm pretty sure that it doesn't pass audio through without a DAW.

fast track pro: output to mpc line in -- your trs outputs should be connected to a monitoring system, not the mic

mpc main output to mixer--ok
all 8 single outputs to mixer--0k
both korg outs to mixer--ok
and mixer main-out to fast track pro line in--ok

monitors are connected to the mixer
the problem is, i have the sound twice.

1x when the korg goes in the mixer
(korg stereo out in mixer stereo in)
1x when i record the sound with my mpc
(mpc out goes also in the mixer

(2x same sound)

should i use:
mixer out -> mpc 2500 in
and
mpc 2500 out -> usb interface in

No.
Simply put, everything needs to go thru the mixer and out to your sound card which is connected to your computer. Im not familiar with the 2500, I dont knw if sound passes thru it if your not sampling the sound, and or you have things hooked up midi, but even if u do have it hooked up midi, the sounds not passing thru the mpc, its just coming out of its own sound output, thats going to the mixer. But no, everything should go thru the mixer, to ur usb interface

You don't need to have a DAW open to pass sounds through your interface. Although a soundwave editor could technically be called a DAW could it? If so then forget what I first said

hmm, but my microkorg has is own sound. it goes in the mixer, from the mixer in my interface in my DAW than back in the interface (out) to my mpc and from my mpc BACK in the mixer...
this coundn't be right

if it were me, i would have all mpc and synth outputs going to the inputs of the mixer. then i would have the MAIN outputs of the mixer to either the inputs of the audio interface for recording, or connected directly to the monitors.

having all of your gear connected to the mixer and running out of the main outputs will allow you to mix all of your sounds into a stereo mix. you won't be able to multi track with that interface unless you do 1-2 tracks at a time.

but is there a way to rec. the audiosignal of my microkorg with the mpc?
My mixer "main outs" are conn. to my interface.

but i still got 2 AUX channels / Stereo retuns / Rec. out

if you connect the two aux out to the mpc record in you can send sound from every channel of your mixer to the mpc.
if you hear a sound twice just turn down the line fader on the channel while having the aux open.
think of the aux as a seperate out which can be used independent of the main out of your mixer. the record out of your mixer probably only mirrors he stereo mix of the mixers main out.
if you set it up this way you can decide if you want to record the microkorg (or anything else that is connected to your mixer channels) to your daw (through the main out -> into the fast track) or to the mpc (mixer aux out -> mpc record in).
and to record sounds from your daw or anything from the computer to the mpc just connect the fast track out -> to the mixer.
in your setup there are no monitors so how do you listen? do you use headphones or speakers and where are they connected? if your mixer has a cr out you should use that for the speakers.
