Akai MPC1000=$869-$1000

Stopped producing in 2005,just started again 2010 (somewhat....)Using Reason 5 and the now realized piece of crap MPD18 lol (these pads on here are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO terrible lol) i would like to upgrade later this year once i obtain the funds, which one seems like a better deal and or better use? any suggestions also? MPC500 maybe? or Maschine? need some quick advice so that i may start doing this more seriously.

Ps-ANY Sample tips would be appreciated also, besides getting the "Timing Correctly",thanks everyone.

none..

you can probably score an XL on ebay for like 400 bucks maybe 500... the fat pads cost about 50, and the card readers range from 1 dollar up to 50-60 dollars. the 32 megs of ram is under 10 bucks.

I would suggest waiting till you can score a fully loaded XL for like 600 or less including the EB16 effects board, and the 8 output expansion...

make sure if you get a 2000 or 2000xl (the xl) that the screen has no lines on it, or else you will need to replace the screen which will cost you 160+ dollars... once one line comes, more will soon follow guaranteed.

also, 800+ for a 1000 seems very high also.. I have seen those sell for under 400-500 dollars on ebay, just make sure it has the upgraded pads (not the original first run pads from when the blue/red one first came out) or else you'll be screwed.

you could also consider getting the fat pads for your mpd 18, i hear they greatly improve the response of the pads and are a must.

you can also take off the facepate, remove the pads yourself and insert 16 square peices of folded black tape (so theres no sticky residue getting on anything, this is supposed to help with the sensitivity as well.

i myself am fine with the shit pads on them for right now.

sorry for the late a** responses everyone lol but

@mr_debauch gotcha, will look into trying to find one asap. i keep looking on ebay but the price keep sky rocketing, will try mpchunter.com

@konc3pt i see all of these prices on ebay sadly lol is there anywhere i could possibly find another price online? or cheaper prices?

@damien907 i read that somewhere online as well but it just seems too much to go through for a better response but also seems quite cost efficent, going to look into doing that for now, going to have to work with what i have
