LPD8 Editor does not work in Win XP, on laptop

The LPD8 Editor does not work in Windows XP on my laptop. It worked nicely on my pc in the past, now wanted to change a few pad notes via the LPD8 Editor, unfortunately it just can not communicate. I read some registry collisions with some mouse drivers of Logitech, but I use no Logitech, I use a Razer DeathAdder mouse. Anyway, it really sucks, that AKAI could not deliver an editor which just works, no matter if on laptop or not.

Why do you use a sucker application like MaxMsp, which is famous for not working midi ports. Can not Akai program an editor which works independently of MaxMsp? Just a stupid .exe which shifts a few bytes around. Unbelievable.

I'm not familiar with the editor software (nor any of it's issues). So the only things i can think of suggesting is running a registry cleaner like Registry Mechanic. Also, you may have too many devices sharing a single IRQ in Windows. That tends to happen when using many different devices on the same USB ports. The problem could be remedied manually through the Device Manager in your control panel. Its been a long time since I've ever had any IRQ conflicts. So I'm a bit rusty as far as providing any further details without possibly giving you info that may not be correct. But if you have enough knowledge, you may be able to sort it out. Let me know if you're able to make progress. If not, I know a member of the forums who's been very knowledgeable in these specific areas that have been a bit grey to me for the lack of remembering everything entirely off the top of my head.
