Do you plan on purchasing one of the new Akai MPC models?

Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

I don't think what Dan said implied Akai is using Apogee converters. I think he was talking about the ability to use any converter that you want.

I mentioned Apogee only to show that quality converters are reasonably priced...and that technology has made it possible so that anyone can afford decent converters.

The converters for the MPC Ren will be just fine. I am willing to wager that they should be equal to or better than previous MPCs and other workstations on the market.

My main reason for purchasing maschine is because im traveling and all my records are ripped to my hard drive. I needed portability. The MPC Ren looks a little too big, so hopefully the next one will be smaller.

I'd also be down to be a tester for akai!

Not really. I already have Geist mapped really well to an MPD. I can think of a lot of other more interesting ways to spend $1200.

In the coming months we'll see if Akai decides to make the MPC Renaissance just another controller on the market (Sorry, Capitalism breeds efficiency). Or decides to take it to the holy grail of audio like serato/traktor did with DJing.

The integration of complete hardware standalone, and software integration along with DAW, VST, AUs. As of now it's not standalone but I know it's possible for it to be able to handle that so I'm looking out and calling them. It's like driving a convertible car and you can't put down the roof.

Come on Akai, put a little soul and money ain't shit for a fully independent/software production center. I'd pay 2 grand for it use two of them in my studio.

Remember, there are still people out there controlling grips of keyboards and 808's, and ASR's. Let the reach into the software realm also leave a portal back to the old manual ways. Having both options would untie knots in workflow for artists and I know producers will take it more seriously if it can produce sound on it's own without a computer like every MPC before this one.

Be smart Akai.
