Whatsup people,

Do you guys also get a strange sort of phase/flanger-ish type effects when layering 2 of the same sounds? I've been having this with my MPC and Maschine, in other DAW's i don't seem to have this issue.

Any idea's?

Phasing is normal when you have the same thing going on at the same exact point in time. Change the sound, budge it forward backward 1 tick, detune, ad an effect, something, do something. The more you change one of them the more the phasing will go away.

mpcs are not 'sample accurate' - meaning when ever those two sounds are playing, they are playing at slightly different times, every time they hit. this causes phasing because the two hits never hit at the exact same sample, and it's different each time.

your daw is sample accurate.

if its anything like an xl, you hit open window on the timing field, then choose 'later' or 'earlier' and choose 1 as the step. this affects the whole track, so if you have multiple sounds on the same track, you need to make sure that 'all notes' is set to the pad you want to move.

another way is to go into step edit, copy the note, delete it, move forward a tiny bit, and paste the note.

why are you layering 2 of the same exact sound? it doesnt do anything except double the volume of the sample when its played.

good thing to know, if you didnt, if you already did, then carry on.
