Yeah if the MiniBrute were to be used as a control panel, it would be even more awesome. However it's a blessing in disguise. I'd rather wear out the knobs and pots on a MIDI controller for my DAW instead of putting all that wear and tear on a killer analog synth like the MiniBrute. Analog synths always hold more value than MIDI controllers. So i avoid using them as MIDI controllers in order to keep them functioning for a long time. :)

Tell me about it... Now it's me, a few more bits of gear, several manuals and the same empty ass pockets from when I started! :(

Distorted hit the nail on the head...these little guys look like they will "bring the fun back" which is what my process needs right about now. :D

I think it's about that time...time we start posting the best deals we can find on the two little guys.

Emailed my sweetwater rep and the best he can do on the minitaur is $567. Not too great, but I'll take the discount if I decide to go this route. (unless a better deal comes up) The $33 bucks will buy a decent about of beer. 8)

Anyone else?

No doubt. That hands on fun of analog machines is really a whole different feeling. No computers, no MPCs, no loading samples... just straight analog goodness right out the box, waiting for you to tweak it your own way. Throw in your analog drum machine of choice with the analog synth of your choice, and that jam will go on for hours. Wish I still had my TR-606 and MC-202. I had them all connected DIN Sync. Yeah that shit was fun! My x0xb0x is lonely now being the only piece of hardware left in the studio. I need to build an 808 clone or something.

I know this is the Moog thread, but the Brute got a fantastic review in this months Sound On Sound. :)

Yeah it's funny since we all have been talking about the MiniBrute here in this topic more than anything. It just goes to show how awesome this synth is, even in comparison with a Moog. Arturia surely deserve all the good press and reviews for what they accomplished. :)
