What's good people?
I stopped **** with Reason once I discovered you can't record a beat on my MPC500 using midi from Reason without having a 2 track mixer or recorder.
That was fine as I was still finding my way with the 500 and wasn't paying much attention to the EQ and compression of my samples. Now I'd like to be able to apply EQ, maybe some compression, on each track or sample I use and it would be a) time consuming within the 500 as I'd have to keep re-sampling my shit and b) easier to use Reason's effects as they give a visual representation and not just numbers!
My question then is can I route my MPC tracks and record them within Reason? This would then let me use Reason's effects and in my eyes make life easier and production quicker.
Just writing this I've realised there are 20 effect settings in the 500 and I;m now wondering could I use, say, effects set 1 for track 1 (EQ on highs), effects set 2 on track 2 (EQ for lows) and so on? (I will experiment with this shortly anyway so no worries if you can't be arsed to answer this one).
Back to the original question, I have everything needed to make it possible (i.e. midid interface and cables) except for the Reason knowledge and know how to make this happen.
