Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

Just thinking... to give the Akai MPC team a bit of a clue, we could give them some ideas.

This would be my attempt at an MPC

Image

Original beige livery (essential). Wood sides (very essential). I think green LCD, because you don't suffer eye burn with that one.
Dedicated editing buttons. Better FX & routing. Genuine STAND-ALONE machine, not like the stand-alone Ren software thing.
Easily replaceable/serviceable parts, although MPCs aren't too bad on this front. ALPS-SKHHAKA010 tact switches instead of the usual dubious ones. No cooling fans, pure convection cooling.
JJ as consultant software designer on the MPC side.
1GB Ram & a record direct to disk or to RAM option. 128GB Solid State Disk by the way.

And a little plastic statue of Buddha built into its own little hidden grotto deep inside each machine for creative zen vibes and loveliness. 8) 8) 8)

What do y'all think? :D

I'm thinking its not too far away from what they've got at the mo. Its kind of a Renny McFly grafted into a 2500 with better buttons and wood sides. And if all that = $$Profit$$ + Demand, then game on.

Its real priddy tho, ain't it

WHAT????!!!! Listen, **** carrying crates upon crates of records. I can run MP3's, AIFF's and Wav's of my lifetime worth of music collection on my 12" deck from my laptop without wearing them out. They load faster. Scratching sounds the exact same. Beat juggling is just as accurate. You don't have to have the actual vinyl of a song to play it. I can go on!

awww Hellfire !!! I thought that might have been a winning feature, kind of making stuff a bit more accessible n'shit. Is it that the iPad thing is a bit too Yuppie? If that's the case then you could just stick with the standalone machine by itself. Which you could do with this.

But if anyone's got good ideas it'd be nice to hear them though.

Not a yuppie thing at all...I have an ipad. But what's wrong with the fly for those that want ipad integration? :?:

The fly looks good for those that travel...latching a regular sized mpc to it takes that away.

It's cool, but I'd rather use my 22" LCD and have mouse capabilities. I think iPad with the MPC Fly is good enough as far as iPads go.

You've got the wrong idea. It'd work like an MP without the iPad. The iPad is just like having an external touch screen monitor and is purely optional. Like pluggin in a printer to your computer etc.

Yes, but the drivers and VGA interface would then have to be added to the cost of the MP. This way you'd get a touch screen monitor option without adding to the basic MPC cost. That's what I was thinking.

No I get that...but why wouldn't those that want to use the ipad's touch screen just get the Fly? If we were to expand on the i/o of the Ren, I'd rather see them add some extra outs personally.
