Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

Mind you I wasn't thinking this was going to be a thread about my ideas. I was hoping you'd all put in some of your ideas. I'm curious of what you all think where the MPC should go, how it should evolve.

Anyway, its time for tea in the UK and nanny has toasted some crumpets and made cucumber sandwiches. So I'll tootle off for a bit and hope you come up with some jolly spiffing concepts amongst yourselves.

 Awwwww shit...look out ITM! I think you may have been out-nedded here. 8)

As for the ideas- I'd like to see Akai implement some sort of cupholder. :D

Because you slide your ipad into it, instead of attaching it with a cable?

Will the size of the fly keep you from makin' good music on it?

Edit: the only way I can see this working is if Akai did actually include some sort of modular i/o capability (similar to the Apollo's Thunderbolt add-on) and made a module available for purchase that could wirelessly tether an ipad to the Ren. This way, the cost would be only on those that wish to use their ipad as an extra control surface. Just my two pennies. 8)

Now we're talking. But not a Ren but a full blown MPC 8)

Hold on now...I never said that.

The Fly is one thing, because it's meant for people that already have ipads. This new capability on the ren, I'm not so keen on for the reason mentioned earlier. :)

I agree...but I'm not holding my breathe.

This is just a kind of fantasy MPC thread. The things that you'd like to see yourself.
Still trying to figure how the cupholder will fit though. Is it one built into the front panel of the machine or a kind of flip out attachment on the sides?

You just need a Ren, PSP - you'll be sorted in Q3 according to Akai.

Really, there's no reason that Akai can't implement ipad control into the Ren (as it is currently) but it'd take some doing to make it work in a fictional standalone model.

Just look at V-control:

I kinda had you pegged as a standalone MP fan. So you're fine with the MPC exclusively becoming a soundcard & control surface. ....That's not knocking it though coz I got a Xone DX which is just that, and I think that's great.

You could sort of do most of it now with a Legacy MPC (inc 1000,2500,5000 now) with an iPad, TouchOsc & a Midi interface. Its just extending it a bit to Midi over usb and some comms protocols for wave display & one or two other bits.
