another thing i wanted to knw is some producers play theyre own melodys using a keyboard for example a roland to me that takes more time and effort, i mean i knw sampleing is hard 2 but is it not better to play everything instead of Loops?

Right nw all i got is a 5000 and my PC obvsly but the way i see it is i could get a Keyboard synth and hook it up with the mpc but then the mpc would have no use really i mite aswell connect the keyboard straight to software.

And where can i get more sounds cause all the loopmaster stuff whack plus theyre charging on shit that a next man is gonna pay and download and make the same beat as u.

Better is subjective to each and every person. What's better for you may not be better for the next producer. You gotta figure out what works for you and roll with that.

Are you listening to yourself?

Your not listening to yourself r u? If you think the next man is gonna make the same beat then you have no sense of creativity, no sense of drive to get more creative and put in work to make your shit way different and possibly better than the next man. It doesn't even have to be better whatever better means to you, it can be as different as night and day. There are beat battles all over the net with people using a selected sample and the outcomes are NOTHING alike.

Anyway, look to the right, look up, look down and follow some links here to sample packs.

And no, it's not necessary to have a keyboard with an mpc. Some like it and need it, some don't. Banging music can be made either way.

Well it's like this, you have a sampler, you don't have to purchase if you don't want. You just gotta put in work and get to sampling is all. You are then limited only by yourself ya dig.

I'll say this about the 5000. You have a really nice yet underrated synth sitting in the same box with this nice sampler. If you dont have a keyboard controller connected you aren't taking full advantage of the MPC 5000's capabilities where the synth engine is concerned. so much capability to create patches and play patches that are already available in the rom.

I'd suggest getting a controller and explore the 5000's synth before buying a keyboard synth

See my vid below... about half way thru i start loading patches and play synth parts. all from the 5000 with the exception of the initial bass from the mopho

yeah Lamp... it s good synth. some patches or higher notes can sound really digital but I've run it thru a preamp and even the moog filter to combat that nicely. otherwise its a pretty capable synth.

You have a sampler, and you're asking where can you get more sounds?
Radio, Records, CDs, MP3s, c'mon man!

But if you're a new MPC user I can understand why you asked the question. I wonder what you would have done back in the day when MPCs came with no sounds.

When I'm ready to buy another MPC to replace the 1000, I may end up buying a 5000. I've been loving the idea of having a synth built in which is powerful enough to produce some serious bangers right out of the box. I gotta keep my eyes peeled around summertime when the Ren hits the streets and the prices come down in the used market :)
