Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I currently have a usb zip drive connected to my mac and am trying to load a sequence (.mid). When I load it it just comes up as a millisecond noise, but if I load a .snd file it plays the sample. What can I do about this? Sorry if it's been asked before. I searched but couldn't find anything

Also I finall got OS 1.2 on my mpc but it's still not recognizing the card reader, at first when it was on 1.4 the card reader showed up in the load screen with a ??? in the disk type but now it just doesn't show up at all. Thnnks

.MID is data performance only, there is actually no audio sound in it.

.SND is an actual audio sample.

Maybe you card reader needs to be jumpered differently. Master or single drive, try both.

you record the audio coming out of your mpc into your mac.
no you cant convert a sequence to a snd.

the mpc is not a drag and drop type device...it is a musical instrument.

usually drives have a jumper / switch in the back that allows you to set it to 'master' or 'slave' - the card reader needs to be master.

i would suggest going back to os 1.14 if os 1.2 doesnt work (why did you upgrade?), but that means using another drive if you cant use the card reader to do this.

yes, a dual-mono 1/4" to stereo 1/8" y cable would allow you to do this.

or in a pinch, a single 1/8" to 1/8" plug with a 1/4" adapter on one end plugged into the mpc headphone out would work - but this is probably about the most ghetto way to do it.

still works though!
