greetings

The mpc ignores track SOLO settings when doin a mixDown in SONG mode, is this normal? Can it be "fixed"?

I think solo is a global function (if it's on in one sequence it is on for all sequences) and so JJ probably made it ignore solo, I can see how it could be useful if you want to create audio files of each track, rather than muting all other tracks.

Check the Song mode page in the manual.

Why don't you record main out in RECORD mode, there you can have mutes and solo as you want.

with mixDown in SONG mode you get exactly what you hear and fast and the exact same duration as the sequence. In record mode you can't do it precisely, you'll need to go into trim mode and adjust the end, but even then you are not going to get a sample with the exact duration of the sequence.

there is a way to do it in track-mute view. If you solo a track there the mpc will mute all others.

yeah will ignore solo, but not mutes tracks and this is were you just have to make sequences use no solos, just mutes. I will give you a tip.....

Ok go to mute window and choose where and what you want to solo. Say track 5 from bar 9 to bar 12. So usually you have been using solo and have it soloed right. It is very easy to convert to mutes if you follow these few quick and easy steps.
Go to solo start, in this case the start of bar 9. and you will see solo on and all other are tracks muted of course. Now go into MUTE VIEW WINDOW. see how it has solo on BUT there is a SOLO OFF button. Don't hit it yet. First as you are where you want the solo to start in the sequence, you now hit REC+STOP at the same time. You are recording but not playing now and in the MUTE WINDOW with SOLO on. NOW push UNSOLO. now press play. Problem solved.
Very quick and easy to change over solos to mute settings. You can of course repeat this as many times as you want all over the sequence to any track and program sequences that have lots of different solos of different tracks into songs and then convert to a new sequence. That should solve your problem. Just solo then follow these steps to make it mutes instead of solo.
O yeah clear mutes when in stop record mode for end of solo.
