Sampling keyboards - to create chord progressions - Old scho

Hello everyone - I am looking for advice on how you think the first chord progression was created. Quite sure someone with a lot of experience will recognize this sound quickly and know just how it was created.

TRACK IS CALLED "LOWDOWN" IT SHOULD BE RED!

down the bottom right, first song - about 15 seconds in is where the classic chord progression is.

I'm mainly trying to decipher:
a - Is this sampled or just sequenced straight from a Sound MOd?
B - If it is sampled, are they sampling one chord and than just playing it melodically?
or is it more like he took one scale lets say, and sampled about 5 different chords in the key and than just hits them in a rhythmic pattern on the pads?
C - is this a certain keyboard that just plays this sound and its not really sampled?

To me it sounds like an old sound Module fromt he early 90's ... lets say emu Vintage keys or something like that, Playing a Rhodes type sound. This is a classic sound that was used tons in ninetys house. Rick Wade used this sound all the time.

I'm just dying to know how to recreate that sound! Any help would be appreciated as it's difficult to find info like this. I feel like there are people here that would recognize this sound instantly. But maybe im wrong.... TY

I'm not sure what it is but it's a quite easy sound to emulate i think. Use a rhodes vsti like Mr Ray73 for example and try to put some effects on it, a filter and maybe a phaser. Then play 7 or 9th chords, they are often used in deep house.
I think that in this particular song, they sampled one chord and just assign it chromatically(16 levels in MPC) and played the chords they wanted to play!

Oh yeah! Thats the oldest trick in the book man!! Sample a minor 7th chord and play it chromatically until you get the jazz you want. I use this technique on the DAILY!

Then sample chords that arent minor 7ths, 9th's diminished, all sorts of shit. That chromatic progression is what gives it that deep jazzy feel.

ok .. so you really got what you got from sampling Summer madness! I mean you didn't just come close man ... YOU LIKE EXACTLY did that! I mean you really hit it note for note what that guy was doing!

Its the first chord of summer madness. Since this chord is hit four times in the original I used the first hit and the fourth hit for my example.

I'm in germany and I don't do lessons. BTW lessons for what? I'm not a traditional musician and can't read music. If you got two ears you already got what it takes to work things out. Listen. Listen carefully. Listen without doing anything beside. Turn off TV and other stuff and concentrate on the music and sound only and play around with the keys on your keyboard. Thats all I can teach Oh and dont forget to have fun.

although the rick wade/moodymann/theo parrish mpc style house does sound more like they use the 16 levels approach.

The Rick Wade/Moodyman style is DEFINITELY my thing!!! i guess the 16 levels approach is a really what they are all doing to get this sound. as Esquilo says " Till ya get tha Jazz you want!" Any more tips on that Detroit Deep sound... Let em rip!!!!
Oh and one quick question - Isnt what the guy is doing in the video basically the same exact thing as 16 levels only he's using the keyboard to trigger instead of the using "MPC 16 Levels" button? Maybe i don't fully understand what the increments precisely are between each pad on the 16 levels, but i think its just a half step (i meant to say 1 semitone... whatev...) between each pad... right? Maybe thats not right.. im unsure. But anway SPOT ON!
