Loading Samples

So just got a mpc 2000xl! super pumped

I made a zip full of samples on my computer.

plugged it in works great.

I can load the samples one by one out of the folder,

is there any way i can load all the samples in a folder at once? they are all WAV files

I would suggest you load the samples you most want out of your folder (up to 32Mb if you have full ram) and make a program with them. Then, next time you want to use them you can load the program and it will load all it's accompanying samples in one go.

Can you load all do that on the 2500? cause it has a hard drive?

Yeah, I know.
Since you already have it, I would stick with the Mpc you have and learn it.
It's a good machine.
Once you understand it a little more you will realise that your Mpc doesn't know which pads you want to put individual samples on. You have to tell it where to put them. But once you have done it the first time and incorporated them into a program, you can then reload the program next time and each sample will be exactly where it was when you originaly made the program. Thats just the way it works, even with the Mpc2500.

Learn to sample your own sounds (from records etc) rather than buying or getting free samples from the web. Sourcing your own sounds makes it far more interesting.

Don't think of the prep work as a chore, soak up all the info you can from this forum and from you-tube etc, and if you later find you want to upgrade, you will be better equiped to choose the features you need in a different machine.
