hi,

this is my first post here - so feel free to point my to guides i might have missed or other errors i might do or have already done with this post ;)

situation:
i do own a mpc 1000 - running jjos 3.12 and a korg microkorg since some weeks.
the basic setup is working so far - both devices are connected via midi-cables to each other and the sound outs of each device goes to my mixer.

question:
right now i am wondering if it is possible to define the length of a midi-note inside the sequence-mode of the mpc (mode + f15)?

example:
i would love to hit a key on the korg - while having record pressed on the mpc - and then be able to define/correct the length of the played note afterwards inside the sequence mode of the mpc itself - as my timing is currently not always perfect ;)

is that possible at all?
i'm confused as the "sequence mode" on the mpc represents the midi-notes coming from the korg only as single entry - so based on that i cant even know without hearing how long the note is supposed to be played.

any help is appreciated

step edit will work but there is an easier way.

i'm not sure from your post if you are using the old free version of the JJ os or a newer paid version of 2xl.

if you're using the old free version... you're out of luck. :lol:

if you have a more recent version:

1. make the track you are working on a MIDI track type (you can switch them from DRUM to MIDI type whenever you want)

2. go into GRID EDIT

3. you will see the duration of each note as a line on the grid, you can edit the duration, move the notes around, etc... with the data wheel. very easy. check the manual:

Yes, you can pre-define duration before recording, press WINDOW in step/grid edit and there you go, a percentage of TC value (this doesn't work if quantisation is OFF) or after recording in SEQ EDIT

@Sooty_G:
right now i am using the free version of jj-os (3.12) - just noticed there is 3.13 published already. guess i should check if there is some kind of rss-feed to get notifications in case new versions are released.

my aim was/is to get used to the free version first before i may consider buying the non-free version.

thanks for the help ;)

@bugfix:
thanks to you too - gonna take a look on that - while doing it before is at least in theory for me no the same then afterwards ... but apart from that it should help anyways ..as i didn't knew that before hehe
