Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

If you are running V1, no. That OS only supports midi notes and velocity at the input for triggering pad samples"

I read this in a post earlier.

I want to trigger the samples on the MPC 500 using my foot controller (FCB1010)

I see on the MPC where you can change the MIDI note # as well as the corresponding Note Value (F# 36) etc...

After reading and understanding how to work the MPC as the complete Master I wanted to venture into using my foot controller with it!

QUESTION:

Is it possible to do this?
Can I trigger individual samples with the foot controller?

Basically, I should be able to set a PC command of 46 on MIDI channel 1 therefore should it not play that sample?

Thank you******

I was informed today that the MPC500 only receives the MIDI note and not the PC info sent from a peddle. I first thought something was a miss with the foot peddle so I attached a keyboard Controller to the MPC. It of course worked great. I was told that there have been some new samplers and the new OS system for some of the older that do this!

I suppose for now I will use an Alesis DM5 and have my drummer trigger samples from the MPC when needed!

To convert DVD (Commercial encrypted DVDs and homemade unencrypted DVDs ) to MP4 (MPEG-4) on Mac, a professional DVD tool is indispensable. Here in this article, I am going to convert DVD to MP4 by using one of the perfect apps I've ever encountered, the easy-to-use DVD Ripper for Mac. From its name, you could see it is an app which was speically designed to be a solution to DVD ripping. Besides its high speed in ripping DVDs, the DVD Ripper also keeps the output videos in good quality. Let's begin our journey of converting DVD to MP4 on Mac.

I don't know the FCB1010 but as long as you have a computer between the controller and the MPC you should be able to use it for whatever function on the MPC. Its a bit of work tho.
You can use the software PureData as a MIDI converter

http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/aug06/a ... 2_0806.htm

basicly its "if->then"

if signal A comes in then send signal B
You can do simple things like change a ProgramChange message from the foot controller to a NoteOn message to play a sample
or advanced things like using the pedals of the FCB to control the filter cutoff of the MPCs filter (depending on how much the 500 is controlable. Search for sysex messages too although sysex is kind of slow and not for realtime usage but you could try)

peace

I'm looking into getting an MPC and FCB for this exact reason! My question is, does it need to be hooked up to a computer for this to be possible, or could I run it standalone with just the footcontroller going into the MPC?
