Loop samples without recording or hit them over and over

Hi. I'm a beginner in MPC 500, and I didnt know where to find my wish in the manual:
So my question is, is it possible to make loop with each pad without record them in to sequence? What I mean, is like I hit one pad, and it starts to play the sample in loop and if I hit the pad again, it stops. I saw it in a Roland SP 404 video , and I was wondering if the MPC 500 can do it as well.

I don't think the 500 can do it that way but it is possible.

If you go to program mode and scroll along to mute groups, you can select the pad with your samples on and a pad with no sample on and assign them the same group. For example. A1=1, A2=1, A12=1
That way, when you hit your sample on pad A1, you can hit A12 or A2 and that will mute the sound on A1. But it will platy the sound on the other pad so make sure you use an empty pad, ya dig?

Does that make any sense?

MPC's don't work that way.

Put the sample in a bar and sequence it, let the sequence loop and fit the sample so that it loops around with the sequence.

Its not even in the manual, it was something I always did with other samplers and it worked the same when I tried it with the 500. I made a thread about the mysterious shift key because I always found a new function not in the manual.

Also not in the manual - Direct Recording. You can play a sequence while recording vocals on top or synth work and it becomes a seperate sample for you to trim and chop.

Now I'm figuring how to record Track mutes...stay tuned.

Just play ur Track mutes ( In the track mute screen) while recording ...
