my buddy will be coming over tomorrow with his Ensoniq EPS +16, which Im wanting run my samples through and playback, but i want to do all my sequencing inside the MPC 1000.

how would i set this up, will it involve midi? and for this particular type of setup, where will the audio cables go?

we need to know which cables to go pickup for this to work.

this is the equipment we will have this weekend (for hookup purposes)

1-MPC 1000 (2x Midi In, 2x Midi Out
1-Ensoniq EPS +16 (Midi In, Midi Out, Midi Thru)
1-Zoom R8 recorder

Connect the MIDI out from your MPC 1000 to the EPS MIDI in. This will allow you to trigger the sounds in your EPS from the MPC.

If at any point you want to hit the EPS keys and record that note information in the MPC then also connect the EPS MIDI out to the MPC 1000 MIDI input.

Hook up the EPS audio outputs to the Zoom recorder inputs. Now you're able to record the samples triggered as audio tracks on the Zoom.

Before trying to set this up read this over a couple of times -
