Just go with the new sensors from MPCSTUFF. I did, now my MPC3000 is like brand new. :D

That's exactly it :)

Cut squares in the clear channel for each pad like this.

that is one crazy sounding technique, gonna have to pull out the exacto knife.. but if i can just revive one pad then i know its not pcb related and will order a new sensor array. thanks again pal

Yeah, failing or failed sensors use to be a sure way to get a deal on a cheap MP.
People would think it was something major and not want to pay the diagnostic fee most shops would charge and just sell the unit as non-functional.
The good thing about replacing the pad sensors is that most 60/3k/2ks probably need them replaced anyway so it breaths real life into them when you do it.

i will try the pencil eraser trick as well as the cutting trick, btw is there a yt video or tutorial about the cutting trick, i'm not sure where exactly and how big i need to cut the sensor???
