I've recently started using MIDI in my software. I've always used it my MPC to record MIDI information to trigger other external hardware, but I'm wanting to use MIDI with Pro Tools now.
I have the M Audio 2x2 and I'm running my MPC MIDI Out "A" to the 2x2's in and the out to the MPC In "1".
I got the settings in Pro Tools right, I think. I opened up 3 MIDI channels in Pro Tools and set the I/O's to the corresponding MIDI channels in the MPC (1A, 2A, 3A, all on seperate MPC tracks.)
I'm wanting to track the MIDI information from a drum sequence into Pro Tools.
Now, I can get everything tracked into Pro Tools correctly, all on individual MIDI tracks. (basically I want to use the MIDI edit window in Pro Tools to make an infinite amount of changes)
Here is my problem............when I want to play back the information tracked in Pro Tools to trigger the internal drum sounds in my MPC everything goes haywire. (Keep in my mind, my active track recieve in the MPC is set to all, I have no soft thru setting)
I either only get one track in my MPC to trigger from the MIDI while there other tracks don't do nothing..........or I get hanging notes, or a very disturbing distorted sound which makes me quickly turn all the inputs down.
I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong, or what changing in what settings I need to change in order to seemlessly and successfully playback multiple MIDI tracks to trigger the internal samples.
I've also tried turning of "Pad to internal sound" in my MIDI setting within the MPC.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
