I'm having trouble doing this. I find syncing an MPC a piece of cake, but i'm having difficulties syncing this thing. Could someone please help.
Just had a quick glance at the manual for the SP:
1. Have you set the "Sync" mode to either "MIDI" or "Auto".
These seem to be the only two modes that allow you to do what you want. Page 72:

2. In Ableton preferences choose your MIDI ports with the right output options selected.
I can only think it's the settings on the 505 that need adjusting.
