MIDI sync issue - Pro Tools

So my current issue is MIDI between the MPC 1000 and Pro Tools.
Strictly for re-recording into 'Tools, there seems to be a weird issue with MTC:

I can trigger Pro Tools to record by arming the transport and hitting play on the MPC 1000, and sure enough it will play and record. However, for whatever reason it misses a few milliseconds of the first beat as it records. You can actually hear it audibly. Anyway this means I then have to trim waveforms and try to get them all back in sync across the grid.

MPC settings are:

Sync out: A (Master)
Mode: Midi Time Code
Frame rate: 25(default)
Send MMC:On


Pro Tools MIDI settings are:

(Enable MIDI Beat Clock for:)
Digi 002, Port 1
Digidesign Device, Port 1


Pro Tools MIDI Studio also confirms that all connections are correct.

Still having issues with this.

Can get my MPC synced as Slave to Pro Tools but it is not quantizing correctly during recording. Sounds like a few milliseconds of silence before it starts recording, then as you look at the waveforms its a few milliseconds off the grid. All tracks are synced though, so im halfway there.

Did you do what tonyscarbones suggested?
That gives midi a chance to lock up before the sequence actually starts.

Yep added 4 blank bars and It's still off by a few milliseconds.
This is officially doing heads in!

Frame rate was at 30fps, turned on GEN MTC, used pre-roll...No diff.
It'l be something really small and so completely obvious that when I find it i will yell LAMPDOGGGGGGG and quantize like a boss.

Maybe just latency in your system then.

Are you using any real-time effects, running any programs in the background, autostart any programs that are running in the back that you don't of. Turn off or disable all other unnecessary programs when recording is what I do. I also tweak my windows startup as well. Optimized my windows for audio too. These are just some ideas.

Nah only Pro Tools is open, i'm on a Mac so everything has been optimized for audio. My only theory is that its something do with the MPC running on the standard 16MB of RAM.

I doubt the 16mb ram is a midi problem.
