I understand what you're saying about conforming Prah, but don't you feel like maybe he's giving these cats a throwaway beat for cheap and stuff, isn't that like ruining his rep? I wouldn't really want an artist to put out a track that I did that I don't think is hot, I did it once in the past and always regretted it, because I didn't feel it was a good representation of my talents...

I understand that but you would be surprised what some of these rappers want. You can spend a lot of time on a track and it's straight fire. The rapper listens to it and doesn't want it but he'll hear something else that you might have started and didn't finish and want it. You might nit even like the track and that's the reason you didn't finish it but they still want it. Sometimes you have to give them exactly what they ask for regardless of how you feel about the track. Go figure

btw. i think you either love him or hate him. I know lots of hood cats who think its too samplish. Not that its bad, but that they just cant feel it. Like its too complex or something.

i sort of agree. Its more like lounge music to me. Not that he doesnt get credit, its just not bangin ghetto anthem type ish.

There're major differencies between Blaze and Rj :
1/Blaze make a 4 bars loop songs with few tracks then mute/unmute. His beats contains wack Triton sounds or long long ass samples. I'm sure he makes his beats in less than 15 minutes.
2/Rj songs aren't linear. He's got at least 5-6 samples from different sources in each of his tracks. There's a major work of arrangement and a crazy amount of research of samples. Not so many people can do that. For example, try to program the beat of the last song of Dj Shadow last LP (You can't go home again). Ask Blaze or anyone else if he can do it. Those guys got mad skilz. There are no comparaison between hip-hop classic producers (Primo, Blaze, Pete Rock, Kanye West,...) and cats like Rj, Shadow, Automator. They're a way ahead...

to me, they're both dope and my opinion on which one's better changes by my mood of what I feel like listening to because some week i'll be lovin the mainstream style production and other weeks I hate it and just want to hear raw sample beats. i'm a weird bro.

that's debatable, veeeryyy debatable.

Primo and Pete Rock chop up samples to a tee. They are unbelievably skilled and they pretty much exemplify what classical hip hop is.

Im not taking anything away from rjd2 and shadow but there is absolutely no comparison between those two and premier and rock.

Unless Britain is in Ohio...Cause thats where dude is from...I went and seen his live show a while back it was alright but what I was really impressed by was the cat that opened up for him I think his name was Diplo.He was rocking 4 turntables as good or better than anybody I've ever seen and he was taking obscure records and mixing them with records that everyody's heard of and the result was pretty impressive.

Sorry if I sound stupid but I dont know wha the initials RJ stand for? IF someone could tell me I want to check his tracks out.
