Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By ct45 Sat Oct 23, 2004 11:41 pm
Just been using it for the last 4 hours, then I turned it off then went to turn it back on again (about 1 second pause) and its dead, no power nothing...

I hope its just a fuse or something cheap to repair (or will Akai rip me off to fix it?)... ive tried a new power lead BTW.

Its a 2000XL with Interal Zip, as this happened to anyone else? I was just getting into a good tune as well

Fuse, wait a while before you power on again, at least a minute or so.

right I see, how can I fix this? Can I do it myself or is it a Akai repair job?

Ill know next time though!

Thanks

Carl.

Open her up, see what fuses go where, get the exact same fuses from radio shack or wherever, put the new ones in exactly where the old ones were and make sure to match the values.

If you can handle that, then you can do it yourself, but they may all be different values, so makesure you get them where they are supposed to go.

it should be next to the power supply board, closer to the power cord connector. It could be under another circuit board, tread carefully.

mmm, ive got a bad feeling about this, think im gonna give Akai a ring tomorrow, see what they say... im a bit clumsy when it comes to things like this, knowing my luck ill bust the whole thing..

Cheers

Carl.

well I phoned Akai, who put me in touch with their service center, and they said it would be 100 pounds + 25 pounds p&p (there and back)!!!!!! Sounds like daylight robery to me!

Elmacaco, have you actually replaced this fuse yourself before? Or anyone else for that matter...

help Im getting MPC withdrawal
