hey lampdog i know you shut down the other thread due to the bickering/piracy talk but you need to leave something up as a sticky so the 3000 community knows not to order the OS.

i think you should make the closed topic a sticky or make this one a sticky or make one of your own so that there is a note to the people looking to buy the OS who do not know that Rohan is MIA.

I was the one who closed it, more than only me - decided locking it was best. A sticky, you'd have to ask Tutor for that one. You aren't the first to ask about a sticky.

Rohan is not MIA, he's just playing games with people's money.

Even if he does have personal problems, you should never mix personal issues with business.

We should do the sensible thing and report his ass to the Better Business Bureau and any other agency equiped to handle this. Stop waiting before your money is completely gone.

i wouldnt be surprised if his problems were financial... this little 'nonchalance' might have some intere$ting side effects for him. would explain his url renewal too

just a guess

perhaps someone in WA should knock on his door... ???

the website is registered in bellevue, wa... but people are saying he's in australia?? it's been 6 months since people started mentioning him going MIA though... the mpc community needs an update of his status...

Crossings

Even though the domain has been registered in WA, it doesn't mean that's where he is located. This is merely just where the server is hosted. From what I believe Rohan is certainly located in Australia.

Alot of the time when you do a WHOIS search, it will list the Domain owners address. But if they have a private account, it will simply list the address of the server host.

This whole situation is crap. For such a tight knit community there has been a complete lack of willing shown by people who probably have the means to contact him in a variety of ways..

^^^^ THIS ^^^^

In fact it's pathetic. No wonder people rarely talk with their neighbours anymore.

So many people so unwilling to help another unless there is something in it for themselves.

I'm interested to hear ideas on how you guys think people are unwilling to help here. To my knowledge, there's only ever been an email address on his site. If he doesn't answer that, what next? Are you expecting someone who lives in Australia to go all 'PI' and track the guy down? What address would he be using, the domain is just a privacy service.

What is it you think 'other' people should be doing that you are not willing to do yourself? Do you think there's some conspiracy by the MPC community to not try to sort your problems out for you?

Unbelievable.

Well I'm hardly going to book a flight out there myself am I. It would probably cost about 10 times what I paid for this shitty upgrade in the first place.

It doesn't matter what I think people should do as no one would do it anyway, like Sensei said, people are going to do much off their own backs as it's not there problem. It might be nice if the people who knew the guy for starters would actually help sort the situation, and maybe fill us in rather than just staying quiet, that might be a tad helpful don't you think?

Are you telling me on this whole forum, there isn't AT LEAST 5 guys who know this dude in person. I thought he is meant to be some hot shot programmer, who is second to none in this particular field.

And to the above poster, **** Magnum, I'd rather dig kojak up instead and have him make some moves up in this ****.

Not to my knowledge and I've spoken to many people about this, and no one has a clue how to contact him because all we have is an email address. The same can be said for many of the people heavily involved in services for the MPC community, including myself - we're dotted all over the world and spend most of the time conversing via email or PM. Most of us have never met each other, some of us haven't even spoken to each other, yet we're doing a lot of things together for the MPC community.

I'm fairly confident that the reason no one is coming forward is because no one who hangs out here actually knows what's happened to the guy.

i don't get it.

what is all this jibber jabber about...is Rohan alive, dead, ripping people off, having family, personal or health issues?

who gives a f**k? unless the guy is dead, if he is running a business and selling a product, he should at least disable the purchase section of his site. some people may buy that OS, who don't know or check this site. it's not a good or professional look for him. even if he is sick or having family issues...take a min or if you can't have someone else do it, but either way...DISABLE THE PURCHASE SECTION OF YOUR SITE, until you are back in business and can meet the obligations of your customers. It's the right thing to do.

nothing personal against anyone. all this back and forth bs about it is getting a little tired. it seems like it's been a while. if dude hasn't stepped up and disabled that section of his site or had a friend do it for him, until he gets his situation handled, then he gotta face the fact that people are gonna do what they need to do to get the product.

basic laws of nature.

Rohan or his interpreter... Do The Right Thing! Like Spike Lee.

For real tho. I don't even have an MPC 3000 (I got my OG 1988 MPC 60 MKI), but this situation is getting outta control. Either dude's still in business and gonna keep it goin or have one of your friends run it while you can't, sell the business or the Bootleggers are gonna do their thing.

Al Capone of this third party MPC OS Game.
