Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi,

I'm having real problems installing my Iomega Zip 100 drive on my Win7 machine.. I've tried installing the drivers and that totaled my machine, I had to return to a save point etc.

After googling it seems other people cant use the zip drive with Win7.. WTF

I really need this shit so I can use my MPC, Is anyone else using it with Win7?

Help me out if you can, Cheers.

Luke ;)

Hmm, I tried one from the pack of new ones.. the normal ones dont work, they say they need scanning and fixing. BUT the one labeled 'tools' was readable! it had some file archiving software from iomega on.

So does the akai format the disks? I've got some that came with the MPC that ive been saving samples too, I obviously wanna be able to drag wavs onto the disks and then get the akai to read..

If your computer is finding fault with brand new disks
then that sounds like a real problem (in your computer). You shouldn't have needed to install any drivers as the USB Zip drive should be plug and play. I tried both zip 100 and 250 on my w7 without issue.
Are any other USB devices playing up? eg USB flash drive.

Yes the MPC formats disks
[ but, ....
I'd recommend not putting your MPC disks in the computer as it can alter them and make them unreadable. eg. if your file names are longer than 8 characters it may shorten them with the result that your programs can't find their associated files.
If you want to transfer wave files from your computer to the mpc, keep a seperate disk as a transfer disk and only use that to transfer files before saving to your mpc disks.]
