MPC as Midi

Hey, jus wondering if the mpc 1000 can be used as a midi controller with ableton and the drum rack, the reason i want to do this is for better sequencing and the computer will allow me to polish up my beats whilst im making them and add synths etc.

How can i use my MPC 1k as a midi controller for the ableton drum rack?

run a MIDI cable from your MPC to your interface.

why would you do that to your mpc. its like buying a jet and never flying it, only driving it.
