Track Mute Problem

I sampled some sounds with the MPC 500, then put them into a program, and made a nice sequence. But when I play back the sequence, and try to use the 'track mute' function, nothing happens, even if I mute all tracks...
Why doesn't this work?

Are you recording to seperate tracks? The 500 can stack up to 48 tracks.

When recording a sequence, go to Track Params and adjust the track number you want to record on.

If you record everything on one track, then its not gonna work. Capeesh?
