Hi everybody, I just bought my first Mac and I would like to transfer recordings made on a cassette 4 track (or MPC, or any other 1/4" output) onto my mac.

I am really hoping you guys may be able to point me in the right direction as far as multitrack software and especially the hardware (firewire) I should get.

I read the PROTOOLS BATTLE on here, etc. but that hasn't helped much. I would like flexibilty and my price range is less than $1000.

I was thinking about the MBOX? But maybe another small cheap device like this exists that I don't know about?

Thanks, and remember, the MPC series rules beats. I appreciate all the helpfulness of the forum. Peas.

I used to have a emagic EMI 2|6 which is a 2 input 6 output USB audio interface. Sound quality was excellent. I never had a problem using it with any program especially in OSX. I think you could get one for about $250 from Guitar Center. It's worf it.
