Removing Hiss

Ok when i sample something i get hiss from my stereo and it records it when i sample something . I can get away with short samples such as drums because i just chop the hiss off. But when i sample something like a bassline it is there. Is there anyway to fix this or is it because of my stereo? Im sampling from my computer's output to my mpc and my mpc is hooked up to my stereo...

yeah i think your right it probably is my shitty soundcard. what is a good yet affordable soundcard to get ? i just want it to sample sounds from my pc to mpc and back to the pc to mix and edit my tracks.

What kinda setup u got? u got output board 4mpc? mixer?

right now i only got my mpc 2000xl with 8 outs, my computer, midi keyboard, and all kinds of software.

oh and my budget will be around 200 dollars

say if i get an external zip drive for my computer and use it to transfer sounds from my computer to my mpc. Will my soundcard still matter in the quality of the sounds? Or is that only if im recording straight off the soundcard?

Depends on how you got the sounds into the pc in the first place, if you recorded them through the same garbage soundcard then you'll get the same garbage sound, if you're dl'n sounds from the web then the sound qualtiy will be the same when you transfer them using a zip. The MPC Editor makes this process much easier.

i have the same problem but im using a portable vestax turntable hooked up 2 my mpc1000 then out of my 1000 to a awia reciever.....i get a annoying hiss ...how can i elimante it ?
